The school that champions Tangible Coding got a surprise visit during their assembly.
It has been a while since I last visited Siboniwe Primary School in KwaMhlanga to support their Coding and Robotics club. We normally chat on WhatsApp about coding activities and information about the next events and workshops.
Last year Siboniwe got position 55 during the World Cup Coding Tournament hosted online against more than 400 teams in 30 different countries around the world. The tournament started from Regional Level as Coding4Africa Tournament where all information is received through a WhatsApp Chatbot developed by Tangible Games and Leva Foundation in Gqeberha.
Many schools in Mpumalanga participate annually but Siboniwe Primary School produces brilliant coders who are able to use their creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills to crack the games and proceed to the next levels of the tournament. This year three teams will represent Mpumalanga at Nationals together with other teams coming from (1)Emthunzini Primary School, (3)Ndzundza Mabhoko Secondary and (3)Umsebe Primary School in Ermelo.
